Konbu Dashi

Konbu Dashi

This recipe is very versatile and can be used in many cuisines.  This does NOT require heat - the konbu just needs to soak for 24 hours to ensure the best results.

Ingredients:
4 cups water
1/2 ounce konbu (from Konbu Doi or Uneno)

Method:
Combine the water and konbu in bowl or plastic container and let sit for 24 hours.  Remove konbu, use immediately or refrigerate.  This will last for up to 3 days in your refrigerator.
